Having worked through Sony’s late S series of cameras (S30, S60 and lastly S80) I was excited to read about their latest 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor. First off, I love the 1/1.8″ sensor - to my knowledge it was the largest that went into compact cameras. And second I love that it’s only 6 megapixels - for my money that’s a great size for compact cameras (I hate my Panasonic’s 10MP sensor). I hope this finds it’s way into a restarted S line, but it seems like it might be destined for some more videoey application, what with it’s 60FPS capabilities.
And farewell Capital Asset Pricing Model, I barely knew ye. I always liked the thought that somewhere out there was an efficient frontier that let you choose your portfolio with juuust the right mix of assets to match your personal risk tolerance. I had neither the brains nor the discipline to figure mine out but it was comforting to think that if I really wanted to find it, it was there. I guess sometimes theory just doesn’t match up to practice.
It seems like it’s been windy enough out there on the mean streets of NYC, you think they’d install one of these on the roof?
