Breakfast Links: Street Art, Ear Wax & Expungement
First we have the opening of Eyebeam’s 2007 exhibition season. Looks like a cool exhibit (with sessions) featuring street artists of all shapes and sizes. I love the graffiti research lab, or as my brain thinks of things - the laser guys. Watch this video, it will blow your mind. Seriously.
I think it’s an asian thing, but I love me a good ear cleaning. Some years back I learned that the japanese call it mimikaki, I always called it an ear picker. Today, I came across the Ear Scope GXL which lets you watch what you’re doing! I totally need one of these. Curse the japanese product page! (UPDATE: While the product page may be japanese, you can find this bad boy on ebay!!)
Lastly, for nearly as long as I’ve been a perl programmer, Randall Schwartz has been a man in trouble with the law. For those of you not in the know - he’s a luminary in the perl world and was, in my opinion, wrongly accused by intel of hacking. There’s lots to read on the subject, but fortunately it is now all ancient history as the court ordered an expungement (courtesy kirkunit). So now it’s like the whole thing never happened, except for the hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal expenses, the probation time, the … oh well, you get it.
