Came across this video of one guy at the 2006 French Beatbox Championship. It is a bit of a long video (over 8 minutes!) but it starts to blow your mind around the 2 minute marker. Honestly, I didn’t even realize we still had beatboxing championships, but I’m glad we do. Hey, someone else is glad about beatboxing, too!

And then I read this article which seems to underscore the disconnect I sometimes feel from the world of money. Greenspan talks about his idea to reduce the growing income inequality in the states. His solution is to admit more skilled immigrants into the country. “Oh ho! I think” I’m into that idea, what’s the rationale there?

The former Fed chief said that increasing the number of immigrants with sought-after skills would increase the labour supply of these workers in the United States and hold down the wage gains of all workers with these skills.

Oh. I can’t believe his solution for the growing inequality of income is to reduce everyone’s. I have nothing more to say.

And in a little bit of old news, the MTA is cooking up a plan to encourage mass transit usage in lower manhattan (did you know that broadway down there was called the “Canyon of Heroes”? Creepy). Closing off broadway below Houston to regular traffic and putting in bus bulbs along the road. These bulbs are basically extensions of the sidewalk into the street so the bus doesn’t have to pull over, it will also prevent buses from having to struggle to get back into traffic after it’s picked up it’s people. I’m totally into all these ideas, the first positive thoughts I’ve had about the MTA in a long time.
