Breakfast Links: Coke Punk’s its own lawyers, DIY Fusion, Our new sheep overlords
I don’t know if these ads are playing on TV but apparently Coke has hired two actors to Punk Coke’s own lawyers. Check out these three videos. I love watching how each one reacts. Initially I thought the third guy would be out of a job, seeing as how he was like, “Yeah, we’ll start writing threatening letters immediately, great idea guys!” But then I was like, wait, Coke probably likes that this lawyer is up for any kind of legal horse crap. What I’d love to see is a video of the lawyers punking the CEO with some craziness and see what happens. Man, I wish that could be a whole series. And the CEO’s afterwards would all have to be all cool with it on TV, “Yo this is Michael Dell, all, I just got maaaad Punk’d.” Word up, yo.
Then we have young high schooler Thiago Olson who despite his busy life of track and cross-country managed to acheive nuclear fusion in his basement, you know, building it on the weekends. He got parts from ebay and the hardware store, you can just get deuterium on ebay? Isn’t that like radioactive? Was his mom at all concerned that he was building a small sun in their basement? “Young man, you come up here right now, no more fusion it’s dinner time!”, “But Moooooo-ooom….”, “That’s enough fusion, you can work on it tomorrow”, “Ok…”, stomp stomp stomp. Dude, when I was in high school I had way better stuff to do like.. cutting school.. and… designing role playing games… um.. and hanging out with chicks, yeah, lots of chicks.
Lastly, and even more frightening than a high schooler with an atomic bomb is this news that a scientist is breeding sheep that are 15% human. According to this scientist this is about the sheep having human organs that will be compatible with a specific human (his cells are injected into foetal sheep) so that transplants will be more effective. I have totally seen these movies and it doesn’t end well. Either the sheep get wise to their situation and a few brave ones escape the island and cause a wealth of urban destruction before finally freeing all the sheep (and then where will you get your wool products??) or else the millitary gets a hold of this and breeds a race of super sheep soldiers who ultimately rebel for ethical reasons and destroy several military bases in the process. And then the military needs to spend yet more billions of dollars secretly tracking them down. Either way, it isn’t good for us regular humans.

I think Olson’s predecessor, David Hahn had a more interesting story. He irradiated himself, his family’s house and his entire shed had to be torn down and buried as low level radioactive waste.
And apparently 2 students from our good ol’ alma mater built their own nuclear reactor in 1999 as part of Scavenger Hunt. That’s the shit.
