Serenity is the top sci-fi movie!
According to the SFX magazine poll (3,000 strong), Whedon’s Serenity was the #1 sci-fi movie, evar (via BBC). It handily beat out Star Wars, which is debatable but understandable since the retroactive ruining of the original trilogy by Lucas’s more recent works (special edition). Serenity was a great show and a great movie, you should see it if you haven’t already. Whedon does some kind of super director magic with the opening scene where he tells you this huge back story without a speech in like 10 super interesting minutes.

Back to the Future’s a wierd one in that list, but I do remember loving that movie a lot when I saw it. And who didn’t immediately wish for a Delorean? I haven’t seen Forbidden Planet or 2001, is that wrong?
Anyhow, I’m glad to see Serenity given the respect it deserves, 61% of the respect. Go buy the dvd.
