New Pipes Modules!
Things have been so mad busy here of late I haven’t had time to play around with anything besides work. But I just saw that the good folks at Brickhouse had released some new Pipes Modules for the world to use.
I really like the Location pipe, it’s an input pipe that lets you enter location in a variety of ways (airport code, zip codes and address formats). I’d love to see this extended to take lat/long points to support the GeoRSS movement. That would be some cutting edge stuff - I know that Yahoo Maps supports it, so it’d definitely be cool to see this in Pipes!
Date Builder is nice - gives you easy ways to build relative dates or a dhtml calendar to get absolute dates.
I’m excited for Simple Math module because it shows that they’re really looking at building more modules around “scalar” data and not just handling things as full rss entries.
I need to carve out some time to play with these new features. My limited creativity couldn’t think of a project I wanted to do that would use these, but I’ll work on it. :) Too little time, too much to do!
They worked out a couple of other enhancements, too. Check out their post for more details.
