Annotated Anita Blake
I never read any of the Anita Blake novels (I’ve read Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan books though, which are pretty awesome and you ought to read them…). I just read the Buffy comics and was less than impressed, but this fellow read these Anita Blake comics and was even less impressed than I was with the Buffy’s.
His review is… in depth. His blog is pretty great, if you like the comics. I mean he says this about the comic:
This is Madge, and despite the fact that her thighs give me the impression that she’s fully prepared for a trek across the Sahara without stopping for water, I think she’s supposed to be sexy. Just be glad that I didn’t scan any shots of Harvey, who appears to be a potbellied insurance agent clad in a loincloth and a leather harness that was apparently donated by Adam, Prince of Eternia.
Camels and He-man? I mean, if you’re going to drop a He-man reference, I’m not clear that you could do it much better than that. Fo’ realz, g.
