I like the seksu
So I just realized that there are music videos on YouTube! Ok, I didn’t just discover, but I randomly thought to see if there was a video of a band I kinda like and lo, there was. I like Asobi Seksu, but it’s a little hit or miss for me - I really like probably about half the songs on Citrus (the only album I have). Their site’s really nice - the posters and photos and what not are quite well designed, if you ask me. The music is very moody and noisy, I think her voice is not great, but she (to steal a phrase from project runway) really makes it work. If I might be so bold, I might say that they were influenced by My Bloody Valentine, but maybe I’m not so bold. I quite like this video, even though I’d normally think that I’d be annoyed by it. Maybe it’s because there’s a pretty lady in it, maybe it’s because it has shots of my favourite city, I don’t know. I think it really works with the song and it’s well put together. Any hizzle, I was playing around and found it and so I figured I’d throw it in the ol’ vodpod.
It’s strange that even though they are an NYC band, they don’t seem to ever play in the city. Bleah.
