Hey, yeah - I saw that snopes had busted it - posted a little update up top. Sad is me.

Can't believe how on it Snopes is. I mean, how many new internet rumors must there be every day? And they're on each one! Pretty awesome.

Sorry, I'm such a party-pooper!

I sent Snopes an email yesterday and Barbara (the main lady at Snopes.com) mailed me right back to let me know she was already posting an article debunking the poodle/dog story. Man, she's FAST!

I have my japanese (and journalist) friend doing some research on the case! So far it seems to be true, but not much is being said in Japan about it.
Apparently it was first discussed in the UK paper The Sun, which wrote
"(the company) took advantage of the fact sheep are rare in Japan and most people do not know what they look like"
come on, japaneses! elephants and giraffes aren't very common in Colombia either, and I know what they look like since I was 2 years old!!! but of course, colombians are much smarter that the average asian person (take me and felix as an example), so I can't compare!

Yeah, it's like when somebody told me that the story about Mr. Rodgers being a sniper during WWII wasn't true. I really wanted to believe that he had Devil Dog tattoos under his sweater! ;-)

Sounds like an urban legend to me. Kind of like the old "pet dog is really a giant rat" story. I'm sending the link to snopes.com to check it out.
