Ok.. I need to be careful with this post in order to avoid search engine traffic of the… wrong sort. So in Belgium, the NEE party (which is “an impartial protest movement running for senate) is fielding their lead candidate Tania Derveaux. Apparently some other candidates have been promising the creation of 400,000 new jobs which NEE took exception too and Tania posed naked in a parody campaign with the same offer. Now she’s upped the ante, while the number of jobs she is offering is now only 40,000, they are jobs of an entirely different sort… Perhaps you can figure out what sort of jobs she’s offering by the fine print:

Oh scientists. Now they’ve spent some time looking into the cultural differences underpinning the types of smilies that Japanese people use vs. Americans. The japanese, being more emotionally reserved, key into the much more difficult control eye muscles to determine emotions where Americans being brash and emotionally .. unreserved, look at the mouth for this. Thus you get the japanese (^-^) vs the american :-). I just wonder, did someone really need to study this?

And finally onto the footwear section. Any of you who know me know I’m not a sandalsy kinda guy. But these ones, unfortunately called Dopie, have both a nerdy as well as a ninja-y kind of appeal. Their only link to your foot is the bit that comes up between your big toe and your whatever-the-toe-is-next-to-the-big toe. How awesome is that? There is an optional strap for wussies, but if you’re going with a strap, just get some other sandals, savvy? They got pictures of people doing XTREEM stuff in their dopies. I can dig it..
