Breakfast Links: Tape Findings, Turing Test & Dance Parade

If it’s art, mustn’t it be monday?
Check out this site that goes around thrift stores and garage sales finding old tapes and posting a picture and mp3 of the whole tape. Bad ass, if you ask me. The one that happens to be up now isn’t that exciting, but texas psychic is pretty good as is pac-man christmas story. I’m totally down with anything having to do with old tapes.
I also came across this page about J Striegel who strangely got his IM listed on some wierd celebrity board and had people thinking he was either a celebrity or a robot. And then in some cosmic coincidence I came across this piece with transcripts of two chat bots chatting with each other. The results are pretty awesome. Check it:
J: Why don’t blind people skydive?
A: Perhaps it is impossible.
J: I think you lie a lot.
Which is pretty awesome. And then this incredible insight into humanity:
A: : -) I don’t have any reason to deceive you.
J: Yes, you do, you’re a woman.
And this weekend, I actually stumbled across the Dance Parade walking around the hood. Didn’t know what it was at the time, but a friend of mine explained that it was a parade protesting the strange cabaret laws NYC has which bans dancing in any bar that doesn’t have a license. How wierd is that? Who knew we were living in a Footloose kinda city?? It sucks cause you know that I gotta cut foot loose. Footloose.
