So TechCrunch is reporting that the rumored hookup of Google and Feedburner is a confirmed deal. The deal looks like it’s for around $100 million cash money and the founders may be locked in for a couple years. All of that is good news in my book, Feedburner’s a great company and it seems like Google is serious about keeping it that way by retaining the founders. I think there’s a lot that a Feedburner backed by Google will be able to do - not to mention any integration of Feedburner into Google (*cough* analytics *cough*). I’m sure G’s already hatching ways to really monetize RSS feeds, sprinkling some adsense pixie dust over it.

I think it’s a rare case where if all goes well (and all signs point to yes) then everyone benefits, Feedburner, Google as well as the clients of both companies. So, yay for everyone.
