Breakfast Links: Cat Cam, Lego Tower & Sanctuary

Something many pet owners talk about doing in a haha-wouldn’t-that-be-funny kind of way is hang a camera on their pet to see what they’re up to over the course of the day. Well, this person has gone and done it. He even tells you how you can do it yourself! It is undeniably awesome. The pictures, I presume the highlights of the pictures, are really great - from seeing another cat to watching the bird feeder. Caitiln’s picture would be sleeping on the desk, sleeping on the couch, running around madly in the hallway, sleeping on the bed…
Check out the 94.3 feet high pirate ship mast made of legos! That’’s a world record, you know. Apparently visitors to a pirate themed legoland all helped build that craziness. It’s pretty wonderful although I wonder if it’s just held together by lego-power or if there’s something else, because that looks awfully high and thin to be structurally sound, know what I mean?
And lastly, huh. It seems that Amanda Tapping’s (of stargate fame) latest project is Sanctuary - an online show that claims broadcast quality that’s on the internets. You pay $1.99 per webisode and apparently there’s going to be some user interaction with the show that makes it more than any TV show could be, but it isn’t clear what that is, yet. The interesting bit is that there’s no DRM, once you buy it you can do whatever you want with it, they are relying on a fanbase that wants the show to continue to support it by continuing to buy episodes. I think it’s a bold move and could work, if the show is genuinely good. I watched a trailer and was not overly impressed - seems like another modern day monster hunter type movie, but I’ll give it a shot. You can watch the first episode on youtube, it’s only 17 minutes but subsequent ones will be full length 40 minute shows. Anyone watch this already?

Gahh! It’s a nightmare. Damn that tripod, I hope he gets hosting somewhere else, those pics were, in fact, the bomb.
