It’s a tree!
I’m pleased to introduce Benny, my new japanese maple (a beni-hoshi). I got him a week or so ago and he’s growing like crazy! I guess ’tis the season and all that, for the plants at least. I’m pretty psyched, I have the opposite of a green thumb (I guess that’s a red thumb?) - but I try to grow some plants - I’ve managed to not kill my latest bunch for awhile now, although it was touch and go for awhile with Bill. The picture I posted this morning is kinda how I feel about my plants.
Anyway, here’s a couple pictures. The first one is a family shot featuring, left to right - Bill, Jimmy, Benny and currently unnamed (there’s another currently unnameable in the other room, too). And then Benny’s big new branch. Don’t even think about trying to deny your raging jealousy. I know you wish your maple was hot like mine.

Ooh, pretty. I wonder if I can get one of those to grow? (of course, i already have probably too many plants…).

According to the dude who sold it to me, they’re actually fairly easy to care for, don’t want a lot of light, don’t mind living in a pot. If you’re good with plants (as evidenced by all your greenery!) I’m sure you could raise one.
