First we have this strange story of a Ben Carpenter, a man in a wheelchair because of muscular distrophy. Well, he was trying to cross a highway and the traffic light changed before he was across and a semi plowed into him. I guess he must’ve been right in front of it because instead of getting run over, he simply got his handles stuck in the grill of the truck and went for a ride at 50MPH for five miles! His wheelchair tires wouldn’t have lasted much longer but fortunately the truck pulled off and stopped, just coincidentally. The trucker was surprised to find some cops at the scene trying to explain what had happened! Now that’s a lucky story. It’s the kind of thing you don’t believe actually happened.

And check out this Flickr stream by Bnice2mice (care of youvert). She’s knit, or crocheted (I don’t remember the difference) many things - most of them centering around processed food items like a TV Dinner (one of my favourites, the salisbury steak is so cute!), a milk carton, hot dogs, etc.. I am enjoying this new (or at least new to me) wave of knitting things that one might not traditionally have knit - I saw this book Pretty in Punk in Montreal that gives you 25 knitting project for some punk/goth paraphernalia. Sweet!

Now you know I hearts me some flash games, although I seem to have less and less time to play them. While I don’t think this replaces Quadradius for the king, Tactics 100 is pretty darn fun. It’s kind of like Archon (if you can remember back in the day) - so it’s a chess derivative where the pieces actually battle each other with special powers. The twist is that you can design your army with a points based system (you get 100 points). You can also play the computer or you can play another player (I have only tried against the computer - which doesn’t seem very bright but it’s a good way to dip your feet into the game - Quadradius was a little intimidating because you could only play human opponents). Anyway, it’s quite fun and you should check it out, the wizards are the bomb.
