Wikigroaning
Heh, check out Something Awful’s article on Wikigroaning. This is the art of finding matched articles on Wikipedia - one that appeals to nerds and one that appeals to… not nerds. Open them up and check out the difference in length and depth of the article. You will find that there’s a sliiight nerd bias to Wikipedia - this is, of course, not surprising. Wiki’s are built by the public and so the public will naturally write about the things they are interested in - it turns out that Wikipedia has a large nerdy userbase. So suck it up.
Some of the pairs they show are really funny. Some of my favourites: God v. Kevin Smith, St. Francis Xavier v. Professor X, U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security v. Homestar Runner and Vegetable v. Vegeta.
The article is pretty funny, although I think some of the pairs are a little mean spirited (Love v. Masturbation, Bathing v. Acne). I find it odd coming from a site that published articles such as The Scary Zombie Journals, the journal of the last survivors of a zombie attack and Hurtin’ the Hulk, a piece about the death of the Hulk (they killed the Hulk, too?? Oh the tragedy!!). I dunno if it’s a case of nerd elitism (oh, those other crazy nerds, too bad all nerds can’t be as cool as me) or nerd denial (me? I like the hulk and zombies, that doesn’t make me a nerd..), but you know whatev.

I knew. Well ok, only four of the main ones and a few of the minor ones because of the Knights of the Old Republic series. ;-p
