Breakfast Links: Congestion Tolls, Miss Universe in Heroes & Bush’s Watch Stolen
UPDATE: Team Bush is denying that the watch was stolen with not one but two stories.
I thought I had blogged this before, but can’t find it - anyway Bloomberg’s congestion toll idea is picking up steam. I am totally into this idea of charging a toll to get into the lower parts of manhattan during peak traffic hours. We can use less cars and more cash for the MTA to make improvements to the system. It’s working in London, but check out this cool piece from Schneier about the new boom in illegal license cloning to combat the toll system. People are stealing or cloning plates to drive around free in toll areas - the original owners of the plates on the other hand get to foot the bill. The bad guys are so smart!
So if you’re an american you probably didn’t watch the Miss Universe contest, but if you did you would know that the Japanese contestant (Riyo Mori) won this year. However, if you’re an american you probably did watch Heroes. Now these two forces may be joining up to form devastator! Yup, apparently she was auditioning for a role in the show and could become a love interest for one of our favourite Heroes!
And finally, Bush recently went to Albania where they were totally glad to see him. So glad that while he was shaking hands and high fiving someone totally stole his wristwatch! How completely excellent is that?? Check out the video somewhere in the 40-50 seconds in you can clearly see the watch on his wrist… and then around 1:05 - 1:15 you can see his wrist his bare. Nice work! I wonder if we’ll see his watch on Ebay soon.

You’ve been busy, good eye! There does seem to be a hand in there that’s awfully busy and then gone. Perhaps you have a career in the CIA! Does anyone else hate that sometimes YouTube counts down and other times YouTube counts up?
