Breakfast Links: iPhone Upgraded, Soprano’s Prop Sale & Magic Eye Tetris
It’s only 10 days till iPhone and it has already received its first upgrade! That’s a right! Now your $500 or $600 is going to get you more than it was. Apple has juiced up the battery (and it would seem optimized the hardware because different usages have gone up different amounts, proportionally - see the chart towards the bottom) and they’ve changed the plastic screen to a glass one to increase clarity and scratch resistance. Noice! And if you look at the second chart at the bottom you can see its specs compared to other smart phones on the market - it compares favorably, in case you were wondering.
And check out this report that says an anonymous movie set sale on craigslist is from the Soprano’s (via gothamist). It’s happening all this week and monday, so if you need to own your own Soprano’s gear this may be the place to be! It’s out in Long Island City so get moving.
During my stint at the U of Chicago in addition to being either very cold or very hot, depending on the season, I also got very good at Magic Eye (that’s autostereogram for you smarypants out there). Some dude has built a Magic Eye tetris game (using javascript)! It took me a little bit to get to see it - longer than normal ones but once I could see it, it was pretty sweet! I used the arrow keys (left, right, up - rotate, down - drop), but fear I wasn’t very good. Still, it’s a pretty cool li’l app.
