Check out this middle school with an absolutely no-contact rule. No high-fives, no handshaking and certainly no hugging. What crazy person thought this idea made any sense at all? I suspect the next step for the school is to encase each of their students in a protective bubble to clearly delineate and enforce each student’s personal space. They’ll have to be opaque so that no student feels uncomfortable about the way they or other students dress. They’ll also have to each have their own private teacher so that no student feels pressure in learning from other students. And heaven forbid, there should be no talking because some students may be uncomfortable talking to some other students but be afraid to bring it up.

Turns out that interacting with other kids is a huge learning experience, when they do something inappropriate that’s when they get in trouble. Being able to climb a tree and fall on occasion is another learning experience. I hate all this overprotectiveness. Sorry, I really do. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog posting.
