Well with only 3 days left to go, iPhone news is boiling over.

Check out the first dude in line for the iPhone, more than 4 days early. It’s…. sad. He is, nevertheless, getting his several moments of fame. Here’s a picture of the guy with a sign up. There’s coverage on him by CNet. And, of course, he’s blogging the lining up experience. The next couple days are going to be in the 90’s, at least it might rain on thursday to wash away some of the odor you can see lingering around the guy already. Sigh.

There’s definitely a lot of hype surrounding this phone, eh? Can’t remember another phone that elicited the camping out reaction. But check out this kind of meta piece about the hype. It discusses an article by the AP that suggests that Apple has pulled out all the stops on the iPhone craze. Macjournal then notes that in all of 2007 Apple has issued 6 press releases. In the past two weeks the AP has released no less than 17 articles on the iPhone. More than that if you count all the different versions of those 17 articles it’s actually 52 different pieces. Awesome job AP!

And lastly if you’re the gambling type, and I know you are, check out all the different things you can bet on at Betus.com. Bets range from $5 to a whopping $10,000. Their site is all javascripty so from that page you need to click on “Future/props” and then “Wacky Wagers” which will bring you into the promised land of the iPhone. The lowest odds at 1:2 are that Apple stock (aapl) jumps by at least 10% upon release of the iPhone and the two biggest paydays, clocking in at 150:1 are “The screen breaks/cracks like 1st generation nano” and “iPhone spontaneously combusts”. Heh, oookk..

And just because I’m finally mostly feeling better (if still a little wierd from the meds) your bonus link! We’re in the midst of 2007 New York Asian Film Festival! Sadly I already missed the 15th Anniversary screening of Hard Boiled. weep. But there seem to be some other choice films like Dasepo Naughty Girls and Yo-yo Girl Cop! :) Sorry, there really are some cool films - I need to go through the list and see what’s still playing. Apparently it’s too much to ask them for a calendar of when/where each film is showing. Oh well.
