I never thought I’d say this, but one of the coolest things I’ve seen in awhile is, apparently, in Arkansas! The Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, to be specific. It’s this crazy chapel made of local timber, in the midst of a grove in the forest, it’s very glassy, so seems open air and blends very well with the forest. To bring this back to nerdland, it seems very elvish to me. It’s worth checking out the pictures are cool. Here’s one so you can see what I mean.

Thorncrown Chapel

Hope Larsen found a nice red sketch book, cut a hole in it, slotted a red ribbon through and thought it was going to be a kiss book, where each side of a two page spread would be one side of a kiss (the ribbon is the tongue!). At MoCCA the book got passed around (without her knowing) and it turned into something…. else… I’m pretty sure that’s an Andrew Bell piece ass kissing spiderman. You ought to check it out, you know you want to!

And then there was Plasma Pong. An actual download game, not a flash game! Imagine! It takes the old pong game and adds in fluid dynamics so the ball behaves very oddly. You can also inject plasma fluid to make the fluid go your way (towards the bad guy) or create a vacuum that sucks the ball into your paddle and then explodes out. And the soundtrack I find strangely compelling. You really have to pay attention while you’re playing because the ball tends to do odd things at the last moment. Totally worth a download - for mac and pc!
