Spring has sprung (again) in the city! Yay!

Well, we all know that the Simpsons movie is just around the corner. In a fit of branding genius, several 7-11’s are turning into Kwik-E-Marts. New York’s is showing up at 345 w. 42nd street! If you don’t happen to live in NYC there’s still hope, here’s the Kwik-E-Mart finder on 7-eleven’s own site. Some of them even have (crappy) pictures of the stores. Anyone going to go and check one out?

Gothamist is reporting on the opening of new show by HBO, HBOVoyeur. Apparently at the premier they showed this super cool teaser where they projected onto the side a building vignettes of peoples lives - it appeared as though they lived in that building but the outer walls were gone. It’s not clear, but Gothamist seems to think you can head down to Broome and Ludlow and check this short film out but I couldn’t find any further information on whether that’s true or not, no one else seems to even mention it as an ongoing event. I’d like to check it out though! Although, I get a lot of that voyeur action looking out my window.

Lastly, now you can get a lap dance with that pizza! If you happen to be down by Ground Zero head to Cordato’s for a little dining excitement. They serve alcohol legally, since they’re licensed, but the dancing breaks those cabaret laws. My favourite quotes from the article:

it’s a popular pit stop just blocks from ground zero, where construction workers and Wall Street traders find a slice of pleasure in the least likely of places.

Slice of pleasure! Oh, those crazy journalists.

Even though several city agencies knew the pizzeria had been cited for the same offenses in the past, records show none had returned to check if any laws were being broken. In fact, the NYPD told CBS 2 HD it would respond based on a complaint, which to this date has not been made.
