Breakfast Links: Gotcha!, Mileage Running & Basra Badgers
Ok, remember back in ‘85 before Anthony Edwards was even Goose? That modern classic movie… Gotcha!? Well one underpin of that masterpiece was the Steve Jackson game Killer which was the rage for a little while having college kids running around attempting to kill each other with mock weapons. I always wanted to organize such an event, but you know… that never happened. Well, it seems like the new generation has updated the game into Humans vs. Zombies! Now there’ll be a new crop running around campuses everywhere trying desperately to stay alive (if human) or feeding on the succulent flesh of the living (if they are zombies). Ahh… good times.
If that’s not for you, perhaps Mileage Running will be. This is an interesting subculture which thrives on building up frequent flyer miles and elite status by finding all the tricks to make multistop flights and knowing how to get mileage bonuses for as little money as possible. Pretty cool stuff, if you’ve got some time on your hands! For example some guy earned 16,000 miles on a trip from SF to Tampa (with some stops at LA, San Diego, DC on the way there and DC, Seattle on Portland on the return). The kicker? The flight cost him $232. Serious! The article lists a few of the websites they use to figure out their madness inspiring trips. Hack that system!
The British military is trying to deny the fact that they have obviously released man-eating badgers into the Iraqi city of Basra. Please! That’s the oldest trick in the book! The Iraqi’s are wise to it - coming face to face with these manticores the Brits have so callously unleashed on them.
One housewife, Suad Hassan, 30, claimed she had been attacked by one of the badgers as she slept.
“My husband hurried to shoot it but it was as swift as a deer,” she said. “It is the size of a dog but his head is like a monkey,” she told AFP.
Another was quoted suggesting he’d seen one and it had “The speed of lightning, roar of thunder“.

Nice! Site looks great - I mean, I like the whole thing, but I really love those “Buy Now” buttons on the main page… very satisfying rollovers. And can’t help but love the theme song. :)
The movie, though, doesn’t seem very Underdoggish - know? Seems like AirBud IV. Or something.
