Yeah Right!
Slow blogging weekend as we move into the home stretch of my wedding day… so check out this clip from the new skateboarding video “Yeah Right!“. Directed by Ty Evans and Spike Jonze this particular bit of the video (the opening credits) was shot with Spike’s personal camera shooting at 100 frames per second. One. Hundred. FPS. Hot DOG! These tricks all look so easy when they’re so slow, believe me, if life was slow mo’ I could do all of ‘em.

This clip from the same video (Magic Board) is incredibly sweet too, and the music has a little Chali 2na action, which you know I always appreciate. Turns out Spike Jonze is the bomb. :)

That’s pretty damn impressive. Amazing how far skateboarding has come since back in my day, what with those roller skate wheels nailed to a 2X4. ;-)

Yeah, I can remember my gigantic, extra wide board - was totally asymmetrical with a really fat, wide tail and it had huge wheels. Not quite a 2×4 with roller skate wheels, but not far from it compared to the decks now.

If it weren’t for curbs, rails, stairs, pools, ramps, rocks and sewers they would still be premo!

Heh, I didn’t do any of those and my board was still f’d up!

My ex-wife used to work for Shorty’s Skateboards. She was a bookkeeper for them. She spent most of her time doing things like paying for damaged hotel rooms and arranging bail for the skaters. It was a shit job, but she did get to cruise around in the owner’s stock GTO from time to time. She also got decks for 1/2 price (like we really needed any of those!)
