Sometimes it's to be anonymous and say whatever you want, sometimes it's just that you need to get some things off your chest. Every blog and every blogger is like a snowflake. :) BeachBum, yes, you're right. I didn't mean so much that I was using to drive traffic, but I was thinking of it as a way to discover related blogs. What I am seeing, on this front, is that, it's difficult to uncover related blogs because there's a large group of people who friend and join communities at will... so in that sense, I was disappointed. It does certainly seem to have a thriving social network, though! I think people blog for lots of reasons. I use them to meet new people to network with. That is where the real power is. If you use a social network to get traffic then you may end up disappointed.
