Subway map of the internet
Huh, well remember that XKCD map of online communities? Yeah, that was pretty awesome. Well now someone has built a map of the whole internet like a subway map! I don’t know if this is new or not, I vaguely remember something like this a bit ago, but it’s new to me now… so there you go.

While it is certainly ambitious, I don’t know that it actually shows you anything. It’s also a little less entertaining than the XKCD map (and by a little, I mean a lot). I don’t really understand the metaphor, since why are there weather forecasts on major stations? The page is hosted on informationarchitects.jp - and I kinda don’t find the map a particularly good example of IA.
But it was certainly a lot of work and good for a quick chuckle. Look at the forecast for MSN and FaceBook. Facebook’s from another planet with two suns and Web2.5! You didn’t even know that we were up to 2.5!
