Tailrank gets spammed?
Tailrank’s been having some problems of late. A little bit ago TechCrunch posted on how their technology home page went blank (and nobody noticed). This, I just noticed, is still true today.
Today, I noticed in my feeds two posts that said: “Buy Vicodin Online” and “Viagra Discount Online!”. Whaaa? So I went and checked ‘em out and sure enough, there they were with screen caps of the sites (well at least for the Viagra one) that showed a clearly full on spam site and each of those main headlines had 3 follow up posts that were all spam sites, which makes sense given how Tailrank works, aggregating related content.
The two main posts were both dpc.edu links - which is now down. It seems to me that it got hacked and spammed as the wayback machine shows it as the Dubai Pharmacy College - kinda funny for it to be hacked and running vicodin and viagra spam. But the site is down now, I know what it’s like to have servers compromised and I feel for the poor techs that are scrambling to make things right.
