Wish I was there

Well.. I have at last returned. The honeymoon was far too short, clocking in at only 5 nights, but I guess that is how the ball bounces. Regular posting will soon resume, but I still need a day or so to recompress. It was strange to wake up today and not jaunt down to the docks to get on the dive boat. Sigh.

Slowly… slowly… getting back into the routine of things. :)
As for where - we were near Dangriga in the south. We pretty much stayed at Hamanasi (our resort) the whole time, sallying forth only for some diving trips and a mediocre river kayaking. Let’s talk about Peru! Inca Trail!

I am thinking about booking our Spring trip at Hamanasi Resport in Belize, so I Googled “reviews of Hamanasi Resort, Belize” and your site came up.
If you would take 2 minutes and give me your opinion on the resort, the area, the food, etc., I would GREATLY appreciate it.
THANKS!

Kathleen,
Hey, the short answer is that we really loved Hamanasi. It was really laid back and the service was top notch. The food was pretty good - for me it was great because I’m a vegan and they hooked me up every meal. My wife isn’t and dinner was different every night - some better than others, but definitely good food. We were sort of on a mission to not do very much, so mostly hung out by the pool and went diving, but there’s a lot of trips you can take as well. In the nearby town of Hopkins there are apparently some good restaurants, but again, we were kind of unmotivated to leave the pool. :)

I recommend it. The only downside was the mosquitos, but I think that’s pretty much unavoidable when you’re going near a rain forest. :) Be sure to pack your repellant of choice if you go!
