I used my Applecare multiple times on my Powerbook ... new screen, several new power adaptors, I forget what else. It was worth it. You can't self-repair a laptop very easily. I also got a new iPod when mine croaked and have several friends who did the same ...

Apple machines sure can break, and when they do, can be damn expensive to fix. But balance all those Apple Cares against just buying a new one or living with a spotted screen or dead USB port and maybe it's not worth it?

I only buy Applecare for laptops as I tend to carry them around a lot so stuff gets jostled around and things go south more often. I don't think you'd really need it for a desktop. iPhone, I can't really say. They seem built solidly enough but who knows. I've never had a problem with iPods though.

what's the educated opinion on apple care? worth the extra ducats? for the iphone? For a puter? I ain't buyin' no after market iphone, that's for sure, I'm to wimpy to handle that.
As for not having one yet, well... it still isn't ideal! And it really wouldn't take much to make it ideal - that's the sad part. But in the face of a dieing 650 I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.
And I can't get you a new iMac, I'm too busy getting me one. :) I'm giving Apple a lot of my hard earned cash very soon now.

Considering the amount of iPhone posts you have for a non-iPhone owner, it's about f**kin' time. "Stop whinin' and bitchin' and just buy the blasted thing already!" was often on the tips of my fingers. ;-p

one way is shelling out the bucks at the apple store.
the other is buying it used from my cousin (who still has to carry around his bberry for work)
and the other other is going for the ebay score.

your old diggs are giving it to the masses, as soon as they fix the software you obviously messed up when you were there.

One way or the other? What's the other way? Lucky you mr. month to month. If my previous treo hadn't died, I'd be in that camp too. Sniffle, sniffle. Palm's costing me a heck of a lot of money.
