2007 NYKFF

You know, I haven’t watched a ton of Korean films, mostly just the usual suspects, Oldboy, Shiri and most recently 3-Iron amongst others. I feel like I haven’t seen enough - fortunately for me, the New York Korean Film Festival is about to kick off! And it is opening not just with a party, but a panel discussing current and future Korean pop culture, the panel includes Kim Yong-Hwa director of 200-Pound Beauty. It’s being moderated by Samuel Jamier who’s the Korea Society’s film blogger (and my brother-in-law). The party is after that.

Anyone into it? It’s this thursday, you can get the tix here. Let me know if you’re going. For realz.

PS We’ve already begun brushing up for the event, we watched The Host and My Sassy Girl (of which I had seen the first part at Ben’s many years back but never finished). Have a couple more to go before thursday.
