I've never used the Migration Assistant in the ~/Applications/Utilities folder. How well does that work?

Yeah, they stash stuff in any of those 4 places, and some of them put files elsewhere, too. And you bring them all over and it still doesn't work. I'm not naming names, but it sucks. I'm just complaining, It's a totally reasonable way to do things.
As for a pet howie, he's all grown up and flown to spain. That jerk.

Heh, well not all programs stash stuff in all 4 places. It's usually either/or. Either it puts stuff on the top lib or in the user lib. And usually they're under the user lib. And I believe you don't really need to move the stuff from the Application Support folder over as the app will just recreate what it needs when you first run it if it doesn't find it in there.

Besides, there is "just a top level folder and user level one." It's the Library folder. ;-p Some people just like to be more organized and keep their prefs in its own folder and App Support in another.
