Breakfast Links: Attack Jeep, Tank Limo & Skeletool
You know I am as peace loving as the next vegan, but as a (once) young man, I love me some military gear. I’ve loved attack jeeps ever since reading Digital Target: Grey (why is there no subbed DVD of the animated version??) so was excited to see this bad boy - the MWMIK (what kinda name is that? Couldn’t they have called it the puralator? the swisscheesifier? Something?). Nope it means “Mobility Weapon Mounted Installation Kit”, wha?? How is that going to strike fear into the hearts of men? “Don’t do that! I’m going to get my installation kit!” Oh well. At least that behemoth can hit 80mph, I think that could be enough speed to very picturesquely get air when going over a bit of a bump. You know what I mean.
The only problem with it? Yes, if you’re going to prom it can’t carry you, your date and your 6 other best friends. Fortunately for the British that problem has been solved by Tanks-A-Lot - a tank limo for hire. That’s right, the best way to make a lasting impression on your girlfriend’s dad and his weak ass SUV is to hire the specially kitted out tank, complete with comfy interior, fridge and soon a jacuzzi! Really, it’s the only way to go.
“But, Felix!” you ask, “What happens if it breaks down when you’re on the road? I won’t be carrying my Leatherman Wave to the prom, it is simply too heavy for my tux and will leave an unsightly outline in my jacket pocket!” I know, I feel you, as my multitool of choice, I’ve had the wave for awhile but it’s just too heavy for everyday carry. Well fear not, leatherman heard your worries and is introducing the lightweight and very cool looking Skeletool! (not to be confused with Skeletor, similar but not quite the same). This bad boy boasts the easy access drop point blade, the carabiner for easy clipping action and of course the Leatherman standard pliers. It even comes with a bottle opener just to reinforce the fact that you should have this with you at all times. It’s a little more than half the weight of a wave and will have a fancy pants model that replaces the aluminum shell with a carbon fiber one - probably won’t save much weight with that, though, it’ll just look cool. I kinda really want one of these.

I was watching a documentary about Iraq and in it they show the soldiers rigging up their Hummers to include extra armor and things they should already have. GO AND FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS TO MAKE MONEY…. and we will spend none on your safety, by the way. That 800 dollars for a stapler? It’s certainly not going into protecting our troops. The ultimate protection, of course, would be to only use them when they are needed. Guess the military did not weight that possibility.

Oh yeah, and while we are at it, why are we not using these?

Try road side bombing on of those…. be like hitting a pothole in a caddy.
