Tron, the next chapterSFSignal gives us the heads up on the new Tron movie! In an unprecedented move (for Hollywood) it isn’t actually a remake, but “the next chapter”! Heh, it’s in negotiations right now with Joseph Kosinski to develop and direct it - he’s done some commercials that are a little odd, but very cool, check ‘em out. It’s also being written by Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (no, not that Adam Horovitz)… those guys wrote Lost. Huh, this is my favourite part:

Sources also said visual effects personnel, for many of whom “Tron” was an inspiration to enter the business, already are jockeying for pole position to work on the sequence.

Nice! You know the effects are going to be awesome, now!

Moving on… first the priests screwed the boys. Now? They’re screwing the nuns. Well, not literally, but in order to pay their crazy legal bill they’re selling off some properties, one of which happens to house some nuns who have been serving a low-income LA community. They now have to move out in four months. Seriously, and check out the bill:

In July, the archdiocese announced a record, $660-million settlement with the victims of hundreds of clergy abuse cases. At least $250 million and up to $373 million of the total will be paid directly by the archdiocese, with the rest coming from insurers and various religious orders.

$660 million? Hundreds of cases? Man. My question, though, is what sort of insurance does one get for pedophile protection? (via ill-iterate-anne)

Lastly, check out this site, I Hate Young People. Sort of like a youtube for old people. Although, maybe it’s more accurate to say a youtube of old people. I was going to write lots more, but just go watch some of them. The kids these days, they step on your feet and they don’t know anything about books, library and real life.
