Huh, so in the past couple days I’ve done all I can do to get some money back from my iPhone. Yesterday, I finally got through on that American Express hotline. Unlike last time when I called about the getting my iPhone money via the best value guarantee program - which was cancelled - now I called the return protection program. They didn’t guarantee anything, they just said they were opening tickets and reviewing them case by case and they’d probably get to it in 2 or 3 weeks (due to the high volume!). They were also aware of the $100 credit Apple is giving, so if anything happens it’d probably be only $100 cash per phone. But hey, it’s a lot more than I was expecting!

Now Apple’s got their credit getting system in place. Typical for Apple it is super easy.

1) Go to their store credit page

2) type in your phone number and your serial number (they conveniently provide you with pictures on how to find your serial on the phone, just a few menu items in) then submit

3) wait for an SMS with a code and then type that into the next page and submit

4) print out or write down the credit number and PIN that you will use for your store credit. You can use it at a retail store or online.

Took me, including the wait time for the text maybe 2 minutes.

None of that scammy rebate type stuff going on, cut this out, cut that out, write down tons of redundant information, mail it in and hope you got everything right and then 2 months later you get your credit. Nope, 2 minutes and done. Lovin’ it.

PS I’ve been so good at not posting any iPhone stories! See?
