Howie: Granada Graffiti
Some hot art for a cool, fall monday.

So the Emmys happened and it turns out that FOX didn’t like what some people had to say so they’re censoring ‘em. I’m no fan of Kathy Griffin, but she made sure to not thank Jesus in her acceptance speech, not thank him very emphatically and so she’s getting censored. And Sally Field put in her anti-war bit which also gets the big bleep from the network. She’s not overly coherent in her speech, but you can get the censored part where she says “god-damned wars in the first place” at the end of the video clip where they cut away from her and fuzz the sound. Classy! (via mefi)

Speaking of the war, the Army is looking for some out of the box ways to help protect soldiers from the roadside bombs. Check out this one where it’s building Humvee’s out of foam, fiberglasss and balsa wood! Non-intuitively by making the hummer about 900 pounds lighter(!!) they can add more armor to the places that need more protection. Huh. Sadly, these will be even more expensive than regular Humvees, but maybe they’ll be bio-degradable. ;) (via the giz)

And I’ll leave you to this mind boggling DHTML version of Arkanoid. That’s right, not flash, DHTML with sound, special paddles and everythig. It even has a level browser and level editor! It’s pretty sweet I don’t know what powerup it was, but it’s got one where your paddle leaves a ghost trail behind it that’s really cool, wonder how they made that?? It sort of works on the iPhone but since you can’t actually drag (if you put your finger on the screen and drag, it slides the viewport) you have to just tap where you want the paddle to be - which kinda isn’t that fun.
