Breakfast Links: Geek Lists Edition

Monday? Art!
Ok, I have a bunch of lists here today. I know the internet, and therefor you, like lists. At least that’s what I heard. On the internet.
Firstly and mostly timely this week there are many television premiers. Of particular interest to me is Bionic Woman and Chuck (although Chuck, much less so). Both pilots are available for free from Amazon, but Amazon hates mac users and I was too lazy to find them elsewhere, I’m just going to wait and see them on the teevee. Another premier that I hated seeing trailers for was Reaper. I still hate it, but might actually give it a chance at some point because the pilot seems to have been executive produced and directed by Kevin Smith?? Although it’s only the pilot and not the series. Who knows.
And then there’s this list of the 29 30 Best Geek TV Shows of this Generation. It’s pretty interesting, I was gratified to see Freaks and Geeks clocking in at 15. I’m not sure that Veronica Mars and Sliders deserve to be as high as they are, or Clone Wars for that matter. I was also shocked, SHOCKED, not to see Twin Peaks on the list. Nevertheless, it’s a good try, about as good as anyone was really going to get… you can’t, after all, please everyone! You see anything odd about the list?
And lastly a list of the 57 Things We Know Because We Game. This one is good times, some of my favourites:
4. Hockey is almost entirely about checking and fist-fights. (this is one my first life lessons, remember Intellevision??)
10. Pay attention to shiny things.
14. Eating typically takes one or two seconds, and can usually be accomplished by standing on top of food.
31. Massive boobs do not, in anyway, interfere with physical and athletic performance.
36. For the most part, jumping on something’s head will kill it. If it does not, then throwing a dead animal at the thing will do the job.

Howdy! Glad you enjoyed the list of Best Geek TV Shows of this Generation. Someone else pointed out the gross oversight (I was bound to make one or two of those) of Twin Peaks, and that’s been added to the list.

Ah, nice! It’s a very good list, I would *not* have been able to get to 30. That’s why I stop all my lists at 8. :)
It’s also convenient that you knocked one of the list and got another to replace it bringing it back to a cool 30. All is well in the world!
