Bionic Woman, part II
I don’t have a lot to say, the second show was about as good as the first. I neither confirm nor deny that the show could be awesome. It definitely had it’s moments, but it had it’s fair share of the cheese too. The acting is often sub-par and the cold color palette is tough to watch for an hour. I mean it was cool in the Matrix when it was used to separate real life from virtual, but the whole show has a cool color that combined with the cool (and often wooden) acting, I find a little off putting.
Still, I find something interesting about the show and I can’t quite put my finger on it. It has some good quips, for sure, but that definitely does not a series make. Yeah, I don’t know why. I guess the plotting is interesting and there wasn’t too much in it that annoyed me. A lot of it was average and a reasonable portion was pretty darn good. So I’ll keep watching and hope that it grows into itself, I think there’s a lot of promise.
Strangely, the show I kind of just outright enjoyed the most? Reapers. I didn’t see the pilot, but I thoroughly enjoyed the second episode, even though the main kid looks like Ben Affleck, Jr. I dig that guy from Twin Peaks as the Devil, it just so works for me. Who knew? Not me.

im starting to lose interest in bionic woman already. despite the BG clip playing on the TV and the “pilates” comment, it just dosent fully engage me for some reason. ill give it another few episodes.
ive now seen both episodes of Reaper, and its fantastic. who woulda thought?

yeah, i can see how BW could get boring… I still like it, though. And reapers definitely was the surprise for me, too.

My biggest problem with BW is why bother calling it Bionic Woman? I mean they’re re-imagining it so why not just create something new from the ground up? At this point, only those of us in our early forties probably even remember the original show, and lets face it…its about as different as night and day.
Of course part of what intrigued me from the first episode was the actress who has the lead. I knew I saw her somewhere - she was in BBC’s Jekyll, which was FANTASTIC by the way…
Reapers was good. Ep1 had alot of Kevin Smith in it, you could tell. Haven’t seen Ep2 yet.
