Having a personal screen at your seat with cable TV and a few movie channels is pretty good too (Jet Blue). Although they insist you pay for your current movie (last weekend I had a 3 movie choice, Simpson's Movie, Sunshine and some other popular movie I can't remember) You can watch it with a line of text over it explaining you need to pay for it. But they don;t turn it off. So I listened to the Simpson's movie while I read a magazine. Best way to run an airline these days is to take advantage of the consumer side of electronics instead of just the aviational aspect of them. Keep the masses entertained and they will be a lot less pissy.

Oooh, TWA! Nice. I remember them, although not their advertising. Good work. :)

John, heh! Honestly, though, I don't have a beef with Expedia. I'm not really sure which part could be their fault. They told us to go a little early and the process was not a long one as Delta maintained, it was a short one like Expedia said. Sigh.

I'm not surprised since you booked through EXPEDIA. They don't stand behind their products. Read horrible stories from EXPEDIA custoemers at http://www.expedianews.com

dammit!

But do you remember TWA? "you're gonna like us ooohhh, TWA!"

I agree, JetBlue is generally pretty good, if you discount one of the worst customer service incident in the history of airlines. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/02/15/AR2007021501853.html)

ive never had trouble with them and it prompted them to create the "customer's bill of rights." A pilot was explaining to me that one of the ways they keep costs down is to automate a lot and keep the staff small. this becomes a problem when a few small snafus happen at once creating huge snafus. Its also a Mormon run organization i understand with parts of the profits going to the LDS church. I think its a public company so someone more industrious than i may want to check on all that.

My miles are all with Continental also and they arent that bad on the scale. They serve cheeseburgers on transcontinental flights. odd.

For me, long flights all boil down to having a fully charged iPhone.

Oh, I remember Eastern. Although, I had a generally positive view of them, I think only because they were the ones that gave out those pilot wing buttons to kids. Yes, apparently I'm that easily bribed. :)

I actually haven't flown Jet Blue yet, although I imagine one day I will. Mostly I try and hit United and Continental and their affiliates. I'm addicted to miles!

Howard. You're banned again.

9/11 was a conspiracy with the ultimate purpose of giving airlines a reason to prevent people from bringing knives on planes so passengers can no longer carve their dissatisfaction into your tray table or seat back.

By the way, Jet Blue has been great to me so far. They even have Pete's Wicked Ale as a beer choice! There was that one time in Colorado when the cabin filled up with smoke in 5 seconds. Literally smoke appeared before everyones eyes and completely filled the cabin for about 7 or 8 seconds in a flash. Turns out it was some deicing fluid that got sucked into the ventilation system. Scared the crap out of everyone (a few people got off the plane) but it dissipated so quickly it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that it was not a mechanical problem but a silly mistake with cool result. If I die of lung cancer I blame Jet Blue..... but they are still nice and cheaper than most.
