Well you’ve been clamoring for it and now you got it - GovGab, Your U.S. government blog. Catchy! It’s a wierd blog with a mish mash of random things - feels more like a personal blog than, you know, a government blog, whatever that is. But you can tell it’s a gov’t blog because it has 6 bloggers, one assigned to each weekday (none of the weekends) and a substitute. Anyhew, if you want to see your tax dollars blogging, this is the place to go. (via mefi)

Alternately if you want something good to read, you can check out the beginning of the third chapter of Odd and the Frost Giants by none other than Neil Gaiman. It’s his new book, sadly only visible on amazon.uk.

Odd had imagined that the side of salmon would feed him for a week or more. But bears and foxes and eagles all, he discovered, eat salmon, and feeding them was the least he could do to thank them for seeing him home. They ate until the fish was all gone, but only Odd and the eagle seemed satisfied with their portions. The fox and the bear both looked like they were still hungry.

Or for more real fare there was the great lobster escape of ought seven. That’s right several lobsters escaped from the “poorly secured crates” ran across the floor of a supermarket and out the front door, which had been left open “by mistake.” And if you believe that. It was an inside job, those lobsters knew exactly what they were doing and they had help from someone on the inside - opening crates, leaving doors unlocked and telling them the safest way out. Please.
