Breakfast Links: Japan Edition
Ok. Someone, anyone, please explain this to me. It’s not that I don’t appreciate this, it’s just that I don’t understand. Somehow, beyond combining boobs with food, this is also good for the environment by having non-disposable chopsticks, which I fully support, but why would you store your chopsticks in your armpit? Check the video if you don’t believe me. I don’t know how she can say all that with a straight face. (via)
Further news is that men in japan are now trying to pronounce their love for their ladies in public as a last ditch effort to save their marriages. Divorce is on the rise in Japan and the ladies are less and less down with the man rules the roost situation there. So now there’s an association of men trying to fix that, of course, the founder of said organization also thinks this:
everything boiled down to the desire of wives to hear their husbands say “three magic phrases” more often: “Thank you,” “Sorry,” and “I love you”.
So you know, I don’t know how much things are really going to change. :)
Ok, these last two are only very peripherally japan related, but there’s two, so you know… The first one is about Heroes - it has been so bad that Tim Kring felt the need to apologize to the world in the pages of ew (via). You know that can’t be good. Of course he apologizes for all the wrong things and doesn’t address the terrible writing and how everyone has to act like an utter moron for the plot to keep going on, but hey, I guess you gotta start somewhere. sfsignal is beginning to give the show a pass, but I thought it was only marginally less terrible than previous eps. It’s the end of the world again?? Really?? And it’s Japan related cause he apologizes for Hiro’s japan sub plot taking up way too much time. See?
Part ni of the pseudo japan links. I remember back in the day, I was really into manga and anime when it was hard to find that stuff - the Viz hit the scene. I was psuuuhyked. I’m pretty sure there was a fan club and I was a member, or if there wasn’t I wanted there to be but I’m pretty sure I got a big folding newsletter from them periodically. There’s really nothing to this post, but I wanted to reminisce a little and link to this image of their mad ping-pong skills. Oh and thank Ronin for hooking me up with that ping-pong movie.

“beyond combining boobs with food,” I think God did that already. Or if you don’t believe in God, a demon from the center of Earth…. whichever.

Ben do you have the ping pong video game? Did that actually ever come out?
Poyla, yes… he did… but hopefully, you aren’t still partaking of that particular food… :)

Ping Pong video game? Oh the one for the 360 by Rockstar? Nah, never bothered. =) I guess it’d be pretty cheap if I wanted to pick it up now but I’m already backlogged up the wazoo when it comes to games.
