Breakfast Links: Chess Boxing, Cthulhu Karts & WebWars

Not only is it monday, it’s art day.
Somehow this isn’t a joke (I think) but is real. Is it a joke? It’s a good one if it is. Anyhow. Chessboxing. I mean if it’s reported on the internet it has to be true right? There’s videos of it, say this one of the world championship… The video is pretty unbelievable, too. Is this real? Or is this a really involved hoax?? I just can’t tell.
That one could be fake unlike this game from Schadenfreude Interactive GmbH, which has to be true. Cthulhu Karts! I would give up my vow of console chastity to besmirch my good name with this game, if only. Other titles from Schadenfreude are Accordion Hero II and Hannibal Crossing. (via)
And if you actually really want a real game… check out WebWars: EVE. Here’s a game that takes a lot of the EVE Online IP but makes a whole new game out of it battling for real world websites! Battle it out for control over the dozens of visitors to this very blog or go for slightly bigger game like yahoo.com or google.com. Check out a screen shot of what it’s like to go up and try and grab Google.com. I wonder how long this will last, it seems to me in this, the Age of Litigation, if your own description is:
This game is independent of EVE Online, which is a fabulous MMO in its own right. John Galt Games is developing WebWars: EVE, not CCP. WebWars: EVE does use the same Eve ships, the same fiction, and much of the IP, but it is an entirely new and different game based on the same IP.
It seems to me like you’re asking for a cease and desist. But who knows. (via)

Every day is art day. It’s just extra special art day on mondays. :)
And don’t worry, I won’t play web wars! I wouldn’t want to face your wrath. Still, I would like to conquer my own blog… Maybe I’d destroy happybox, too… hm….
