Breakfast Links: Glowing Cats, Voices & Republicans
So some random website is reporting that Korean scientists have cloned cats but with a sciency twist. The twist? Obviously they made the cats glow in the dark. Now there’s every possibility that this is a hoax - most likely on the part of the internet, but it’s true that the Korean’s now have a track record of clone hoaxes. On the other hand I can now make my first lolcat. A momentous day is today.
Having one of those cats around might be scary, you know, when they decide it’s time to jump on your head in the middle of the night. Not as scary as this, though… apparently there’s some new marketing technology that more or less projects voices directly into your brain. Granted, it’s better than mounting a loudspeaker on a billboard and blasting this to the world to see, but really… it seems somehow… not right. It will either make you watch TV or perhaps it will drive you into a crazy killing frenzy. One or the other.
And speaking of crazy, how about our government! Yeah! Those republicans just love that waterboarding. Remember before when Ashcroft said he was fine with being waterboarded? I’m still waiting for that event to be televised. Now we’ve got Senator Kit Bond likened it to swimming. He must’ve had some bad swimming experiences. I wonder which stroke he thinks gets the bad guys to give up the goods, perhaps the freestyle? Definitely the backstroke - that one’s brutal after a few laps, your shoulder all achy and stuff…

Thats funny because when I was on the swim team in HS whenever I did the side stroke I thought, you know this would be a fantastic way of torturing someone. IDIOTS! Here are the republicans plain and simple. . . Powerful, rich, racist, close minded twits who will spin anything. They would tell their own mothers that the rack is like stretching in the morning. And for what? To maintain power? The feeling of being able to sleep at might knowing you made America safe by killing some family in Iraq that has never heard of you? Fuck the republicans. They have proven to us and the world that they are not ready for any kind of power. Just the fact that they are debating the use of torture IN AMERICA makes my god damn stomach ache. I think I am getting an ulcer. (maybe you can use that in mind ad device to tell them that fighting jihad with a Christian jihad is jiadily stupid)

Heh, I suppose what you say is true of mainstream american politics in general. But yeah, sadly, quibbling over what constitutes torture or not by our leaders means we’ve already lost the battle. Sigh. Makes me want to go adopt a baby, raise it for several years, then return it.
