You know I loves the warm tender embrace of my teevee. What with the writers’ strike reality shows are even more prominent and I two of those that I quite enjoy are It Takes a Thief and Repo Men (just saw the application to get your house burgled by It Takes a Thief!). Add another to that genre, CourtTV (of all stations!) is rolling out Tiger Team which will apparently follow around a group of people busting into corporate networks using everything at their disposal including, most interestingly from a TV perspective, social engineering, dumpster diving and good ol’ breaking and entering. Check out the intro. Sweet! (via)

Ok, with the Christmas fast approaching Ebay has some ideas for your gift list… first check out this auction where someone promises to drive one of your buddies crazy with strange, ranting postcards touched by personal details that you provide him. All coming from some tiny village in Poland. I was skeptical, but after reading the description, I certainly see the appeal! Sadly this bad boy’s already going for $185! If that’s too odd, you can check out the Ebay store of the Comic Books Defense League Fund. It’s got all sorts of original art from and signed bits - well worth checking out. That Daredevil sketch by Maleev is pretty great.

And it looks like Peter Jackson’s on board to make The Hobbit and a sequel (??). At this point it looks like he may not direct them with the studio throwing around names like Guillermo Del Toro (yes, please) and Sam Raimi (no, no, no, please!). With a proposed budget of $300-$400 million dollars for the two movies (to be filmed simultaneously, naturally - can you believe they invented a sequel to the Hobbit just to have two movies to make at the same time??) the studio’s clearly hoping to make the LOTR magic happen again. You’d think they coulda put together a better looking movie site with that kinda cash money. We’ll see, we’ll see. Well, we won’t see for many years. (via)
