Breakfast Links: Manners Manifesto, Archeology & Uniqlo
So some dude wrote his Manners Manifesto as a new years resolution this year. It’s, I dunno, a touch too sunshine and rainbows for me but still, a nice idea. I like #11 - “Talk to people at the check-out.” and I’d say another would be - if you liked your wait(er|ress) why not throw in another few percent in the tips? Y’know? (via)
Ok, back to science. This piece is pretty sweet talking about how archeologists are all up in satellites’ and Google Earth’s business looking for lost cities. Apparently high res imagery is the new Indiana Jones - maybe that’s what the new Indiana Jones movie’s gonna be about, young LeBeouf will be sitting at his computer the whole time panning around Google Earth. Compelling! (via)
Lastly, check out this wierd “game” on Uniqlo, Grid. It’s not really a game, it’s just a bunch of people around the world making boxes on a grid - but it’s strangely compelling. You can watch as people try and accomplish something, like writing or what not and as other people just delete all the boxes. If you’re bold you could try and write something yourself and see how far you get! But… you gotta be quick.

There is so much potential for gaming in that Uniqlo grid, it’s not even funny.
I made a car.

That’s hardcore! I could barely write “HI” in 3×3 blocks. Heh! You move fast, must be your mad mousing skills.
