Technology is changing TV, but the networks don’t want to be changed…

For me the big one is “Obsessive continuity and reveling in cheese” - reimagining a show is the new remake.

6 reasons Star Trek should stay dead was a dumb article. For one I disagree with almost every point, particularly the cold war era analogy which is just plain stupid. I think a lot of “old school trekkers” take the show far more seriously than the writers of the show itself. It’s good vs evil in space, and it’s an overall feeling (thank you Gene) that life can be simpler and better. Cold war my winning side ass. I think the show Enterprise was an amazing show. Can’t say I liked DS9 or Voyager (I know Howie will yell at me) but Enterprise moved me like next gen did. If they don’t come back with another Star Trek series in the next 10 years I will be shocked. They just started to get the next gen vibe goin’ when it got canned. Oh well, I suppose whatever happens I will still have to work, so who cares.

Heh! I’m not much of a trekk(ie/er) so I dunno about all that - but it looked pretty interesting to me - the Trek world is getting too heavy with the continuity - I think they need a fresh start. But that’s just me.
