Breakfast Links: NYC Waterfalls, Stupid Game Show Answers and Rate My Coworkers
Wow. Long title today.
This is crazy. Crazy awesome! Olafur Eliasson, a Danish-Icelandic (!!) artist is getting ready to install his new art project in New York, in the East River to be specific. He’s going to build 60-70 feet high waterfalls there… waterfalls. Hopefully, they won’t be too close to land cause, y’know… you don’t want anyone getting splashed with that nastiness, but whatever - that is so freaking cool. (via)
At the other end of the spectrum of cool, there’s Stupid Game Show Answers, a site dedicated to the immortalization of people saying incredibly dumb crap on TV game shows. It has problems - there’s no way to view by rating and most of them only have audio to listen to and the videos link to big composite videos instead of just the one you want to watch - but still… the videos are pretty good times… Like the newlywed couple that both agreed his mother had 10 decades left to live…
Moving along… we come to RateMyCoworkers.com. Now, you know I blogged about RateMyTeacher.com awhile ago - I thought it was an idea that possibly had merit but most likely was a lawsuit just waiting to happen. If there’s anyone more vindictive than a high school student it’s going to be a disgruntled employee… Y’know? RateMyCoworkers has to be a pretty purely bad idea - there doesn’t even really seem to be a point to these ratings - that is, what actions does the site expect anyone to take based on these ratings? Other than suing the crap out of them, that is…

I am very excited about waterfalls in New York. I have always wanted to go over the falls on a dead body.
