I love the machine for its size, but no firewire, optical drive, ethernet, PCMCIA, removable battery, or upgradeable ram? also, that fancy solid state drive is gonna cost you an extra $1k!

I know, i know, you can get an external optical drive, usb ethernet adapter, and the RAM and battery look good, but still..... If any of felix's readers jump in early on this one, may i humbly recommend getting the applecare on this one.

So does this mean you're getting one? ;-p

No, MMORPGs typically aren't as vid card intensive as them "realistic" first-person shooters and such so the Air should handle them fine. The game graphics may not be as pretty but it should work. Movie editing on the other hand... Plus I don't think 80GB is enough to do much of that kinda stuff to begin with.

I was thinking of getting one of those Time Capsules but the Drobo+adapter might be a good (although more expensive) alternative too although too bad the Drobo adapter isn't also a base station.

This thing looks awesome. 5 hour battery life? Man. I wonder how good it'll be at online gaming - don't they need like super video cards and such?

Ben, yeah - I suspect the lack of any sort of space precludes them from doing much customizing in there, once it's in there, it's probably in there for good. Heh! Still, this must make some sweet mojo what with using the same drives as the iPod. Hopefully SSD drops soon... fingers crossed.

Just get one of these and a drobo with that nas adapter and you're set! :)

It looks pretty sweet but limited HD options (for now at least) and non-removable battery is a bit of a bummer.

This looks very impressive. finally a lap top that appears to be able to handle MMORPG's and decent movie editing software. Instant on screen too, coooool. I used to be special with 2 GB of RAM :( The HAPPYBOX is still liquid cooled though, so there. :)
