Maria Jaramillo’s Birds
Bangin’ art for a post leap Monday.

This one’s making the nerd rounds - turns out Cosmopolitan has decided that Apple stores are the best place to look for a “fun fling” or “long-term relationship”! In brilliant link bait fashion it says “The vibe at the stores is conducive to man meeting too: You can check your email among cuties, take a free workshop on anything from Photoshop to podcasting (a great opportunity to strike up a conversation), or just survey the, ahem, good-looking merchandise.” Wierd. While Apple stores may be awesome at dishing out tender chunks of sexy man flesh, sadly, you know what they are apparently not good at providing? That’s right. MacBook Airs. Ars is reporting that there’s widespread shortages of the Airbook. Could be because Apple just didn’t make enough of ‘em or it could be because everyone wants one. I vote for somewhere in between, especially since they’re saying that it’s a big switcher machine. Nice.

In addition to men and airbooks, you know what else people like? Free music. So thank god for Trent Resnor! He’s giving out 9 free tracks off his new instrumental album. If you dig that you can get all 36 tracks for $5 as a digital download (you can get this bad boy on Amazon - I guess that flexible pricing is working for them). He’s taking a Radiohead play and offering very high price options for super fancy packaging and extras in a couple limited edition formats. Good stuff. Eventually a $10 double cd set will be available.

In addition to men, airbooks and free, you know what else people like? Japanese people? Trains. In particular, cute train attendants. So the latest (and I only say the latest, because it’s the latest to me) theme cafe in Akihabara is Little TGV which features waitress uniforms modeled after those worn by railroad employees. It also has a a menu inspired by railroad terms. Huh. I guess it takes all kinds. (via)

BONUS LINK: Oh yeah, MTA fare hikes today for all you NYC folks.
