So the finale. To me it was a mixed bag, I was all iffy pretty much through the whole first half - a throwback to the boring early episodes. I think this was largely because it had mom and son on screen most of the time. They just aren’t good at the show, it seems to me. The second half was pretty good, not as good as last week’s but still a worthwhile effort. Definitely good enough that I’ll be quite disappointed if Fox doesn’t pick up the show.

It’s well documented that I think that Brian Austin Green and Summer Glau are the good parts of the show. I’m going to have to add to that the FBI agent man - he’s good. He plays it low key but you still see that there’s passion there. I think that’s pretty hard to get right - I think he’s at his best when he’s talking to people trying to get information out of them that he knows they have, he’s got subtle expressions and what not that just works for me. The annoying interspersing of watching the robot memories through the whole thing annoyed me, but that’s life.

For realz, though, with this episode all you David Silver doubters have got to give it up for Mr. Green. Come on! When he saves the day when the bad guys got the gun to whiny boy’s head? That’s what I’m talking about - he just isn’t conflicted. He knows what he’s got to do. And the episode did the characters a solid by not having any discussion about the event in question. And the big finish while quite cliched and contrived what with the music and the pool still worked for me and the thing with the T888 and the detective? Yeah. Good times. Just in case you didn’t see it:

And while I didn’t play it, I’m pretty sure I’d be dead right now if I had played the Sarah Connor drinking game!
