Breakfast Links: Spaghetti, Railroads & Nuthin.

Art. Monday. You.
Well. Day 3 sans iMac. So you get 2/3’s the links. Feel my pain.
Ok, this is mildly insane. First the fact that there exists an annual Spaghetti Bridge contest that’s gone on for 25 years now is insane. Insanely awesome. And the 25th has passed and there’s a winner crushing their last year’s winning bridge. This years bridge clocked in at 994.9 grams and held… get this… it held 352.62 kilograms. In american that’s like 4000 tons. Give or take. That’s spaghetti. Seriously, I’m like Iceman and those Budapestians are like Maverick and they can be my wingmen anytime, if by wingman Iceman meant bridge builders.
If you can’t get enough of bridges, well, I can’t really help you. But you still might want to check out this post on trains. It’s got about a jillion really beautiful pictures of a train travelling through Inner Mongolia, I think. It looks like their travelling through a different time, really amazing stuff. It also proves that trains prefer to be photographed in black and white. (via)

I don’t know if it’s really safe to play with spaghetti. I mean isn’t it kind of sacred to the Flying Spaghetti Monster? I wouldn’t risk it personally.
